My unit worked fine until it started showing error code "EC", less than 2 years after my purchase. It was perfectly clean and used very little on humid days in the summer. I went through the troubleshooting steps with the support team, but was told that the unit is unrepairable and would not be replaced because it only has 1-year warranty. It feels like the company considers this equipment disposable.

This dehumidifier was a disappointment. I purchased it in June 2022 and used it during that summer, and put it away for the winter. In the summer of 2023 I plugged it in and it issued an error code that the service person said indicated was a condenser failure. I was just out of the 1-year warranty period (customer service rep couldn't find my online registration that I added one day after purchase), so a new dehumidifier is in order... after only 4 months of active service. It will not be a Frigidaire.

Worked for 18 months then died with EC code. Spent a lot of time waiting on their service line, only to be told, "tough", the warranty is over. They offered to find a local service center right before admitting it could NOT be fixed, but they were still unwilling to offer any support. They've lost a customer today and anyone I can convince to look elsewhere for their appliance needs.

Avoid this product! 15 months and failure of sealed system. Customer service rep put me on hold and transferred call to a local repair shop without my knowledge of what she was doing.Shame on me, read the warranty! No more 2 to 5 years on sealed system like they have had prior.

Bought this unit just over a year ago based on reviews and with the hope that it would last and now the compressor no longer runs, just the fan. The whole purpose of a dehumidifier is to pull the moisture from the air and when they do not last it™™s money wasted. To have a unit last just over a year is ridiculous. I need a unit to last!

I purchased this dehumidifier to run continuously in my basement. Unfortunately, it will run for about 45 minutes and then display an EC error code and shut off. I will unplug the unit and plug in again, then the unit is fine for another little while. It has done this since the time of purchase. With the constant stopping, it is difficult to make a difference in the humidity of the basement.

Dehumidifier didn™™t last long. Purchased 5/2022 and only need it for a limited time from June through October. Went to use it this year 6/2023 and continually had the EC error code. Frigidaire will no longer cover it as they state it is out of warranty. Had read on line that the EC code is due to faulty seals and/or bad condenser.

Excellent dehumidification. Quiet and effective. Just one distress - when the bucket is full, it is FULL and somewhat difficult to extract, carry, and empty without sloshing water about. I just make sure that it doesn't get that full; and if it does, I pull it out and carry it carefully.

Like many other recent 1-star reviews, our dehumidifier stopped working after the warranty period. About 2 months ago it started icing up. We made sure the filter was clean and it was not constantly running. After shutting it off for a few days then starting it back up, it would inevitably re-ice within a few days to a week. It now shows the EC code and will not function, with no discernible way to fix it. We have had it for 20 months and will not be buying another Frigidaire since this seems to be a common problem recently and the company is not taking ownership of the issue to help retain customers.

My recent experience with Frigidaire representatives was poor. They said there would be forms for me to fill out via my e-mail nothing was sent . This went on for weeks. The reps. said my appliance dealer would replace my 50 pint dehumidifier. Nothing got done. WEEKS PASSED THE WARRANTY SERVICE WITH FRIGIDAIRE IS POOR, BAD AND DISSAPPOINTING.

I researched dehumidifiers for quite awhile..was going to go with a cheap one but since I have two frididaire appliances in the kitchen that are stiil working after 21 years! I thought I would just go ahead and spend the extra money for this 50 pint (.without the pump model) it is well built, powerful and in my opinion a high quality unit. I would definitly reccpmend

This is my second one that has failed after 2 years. The first one failed after two years. It would ice up and then run continuously and then the ice would melt all over the floor and then do that over and over. The replacement unit is doing the same thing almost exactly at the two year mark again.

The Frigidaire Dehumidifier is awesome. It reduces the humidity in our home and is quiet. The 50 pint capacity is good and the automatic shutoff is awesome. It is a terrific product from Frigidaire and most likely the best on the market.

This dehumidifier is a beast! It dries out my basement perfectly during the hot and humid New England Summers. The bucket is easy to empty and not too heavy when completely full. It's easy to move around between areas on Mt basement and has a great handle on the top if I want to bring it upstairs. Overall 10/10

Unfortunately I have to say stay away from this product. Purchased model FFAD5033W1 during a Memorial Day sale on May 31st, 2022. Product worked great until it displayed the code "EC" this past week.Product has a 12 month warranty so its just shy of 15 months old and wont work. Called the serice repair suggested on this web site fro repairs and they inform me that most of the replacement parts available are cosmetic such as a new bucket, electric cord, drain plub, bucket handle etc. You get the picture! Since the EC code is most likely some type of refrigerant issue with the unit cost to repair is most likely NOT cost effective.The unit sat in a carpeted finished basement and was never moved and looks brand new but its done. I had a Samsung unit that lasted 14 years prior to this so dont think I will be buying Frigidaire in the near future. 15 months for a $255 on sale unit = $17 a month to operate. Stay away !!!

We™™ve used the drain hose and the internal bucket to drain the extracted water. Both work well. Bucket fills up approximately once a day with approximately 50% outside relative humidity and the unit set on 40 or 45 humidity setting. If using the internal bucket, I recommend emptying it before it is full. When full, the bucket is very heavy and prone to spilling when removing.

Very disappointing! We purchased a Frigidaire dehumidifier, Model #FFAD5033W1 on July 26th, 2022. We used it August-September of 2022 and July - Aug 17 2023 compliant with the instruction manual. Up until a month ago, the humidifier worked just fine. The unit is now malfunctioning and flashing an EC error code and not collecting water. We followed the instruction manual trouble shooting to no avail. Called the 800 # for customer support and were advised that it is out of warranty (by 22 days!) and were promptly provided with a local repair center, but we would have to pay for repairs. We asked to speak with a supervisor and were not afforded that request. It is obvious that this is a defective unit. It is also obvious that Frigidaire has no interest in customer satisfaction nor logical reasoning to make an attempt to work with a customer and merely falls back on it's warranty, period, end of story. We will never purchase another Frigidaire product again!

This was a replacement after the first product failed after 4 months of use. This product failed after 6 months of use and customer service was absolutely no help. Spoke to 3 agents all 3 of which told me a replacement was on the way and should arrive within 10 days. 25 days later I messaged customer service again and am now being told my claim was denied. Middle of summer in PA when humidity is the worst and now I don't have a dehumidifier. Good thing Homelabs ships next day for free. I will never purchase another Frigidaire product again!

Serial Number KN94310473 Lasted 20 months in my less than 1000 square foot basement and now coil gets completely iced up. I will not spend money to fix this machine that should still be running without issue. It is trash no matter how it is packaged. .A 40 year old Fedders dehumidifier still runs and removes water from the basement.

Dehumidifier no good bought this dehumidifier July 2022 that year ran it for three months in 2023 ran it for three months June July August coils started freezing up must be a Freon leak powered it down powered it back up after coils thawed out start freezing again powered it down for about a week just started it didn™™t freeze up just isn™™t dehumidifier and Freon must be out. Your corporation is not back in this product up all it ran was six months and the $300 dehumidifier stop running a month after the one calendar year very disappointing with your product and your corporation.

Do not waste your time buying this Dehumidifier. (Model Number FFAD5033W1) The first one I got failed after a month. Now the replacement has failed in 2 years. Lots of people have this issue. There is a reason that they only have a 1 year warranty. The last Dehumidifier I had (different brand) lasted 15 years.

This is the second time I purchased this model from WayFair . This one I purchased 4/18/23 today 8/7/23 called Frigidaire waited 10 minutes before customer service responded in Canada, Both purchase of this model shows code EC and not picking up the moisture in the room, bucket only filling up to one cup of water after 24 hours of running. This model FFAD5033W10 has serious problems. Beware of this model. The last one they refunded. Dumb me 83 years old purchased the same model again . Fridigidaire has always had a good reputation for their products this one is definitely a low quality product. BEWARE BEWARE

For the first several days while running it continuously per the instructions, the unit emptied into a drain as I needed it to do. Then, after I reset it per the instructions, the unit only filled its tank. This is a problem for me since I am not at this residence all the time.I contacted Frigidaire support and they were not helpful, i.e., the person at the other end wasn't interested in the issue. Ultimately he sent me instructions on how to get a replacement. For all I know, a replacement would behave the same way.When I return to the residence in a few weeks I will try replacing the hose to the drain to see if that makes a difference. If not, I will be contacting Frigidaire management for a refund.

This is my third Frigidaire dehumidifier that I have owned in six years. All three have been junked due to the dreaded EC code that has come up constantly on all three. I bought these Frigidaire dehumidifiers because they were highly rated as an energy efficient quality product. I do not know who gave them that rating but in my estimation they are at the bottom the list. Three Frigidaire dehumidifiers over six years...gets rather expensive and blows my mind as to the lack of quality components that Frigidaire must use. Never again will I own a Frigidaire dehumidifier or any other Frigidaire product. Sorry for the bad review but the truth not only hurts but is an expensive lesson.

Bought this dehumidifier in June 2022; stopped working July 2023; called Customer Service Aug. 7, 2023 and was told it was a month past warranty coverage and I would have to buy a new one. It worked fine when it was working, but to think they design their dehumidifiers to break down shortly after the warranty expires is crazy. I must have had a lemon. They should have covered the cost to fix or replace my unit, in my opinion. That's how you lose customers.

Works great removing humidity, and easy to use controls. However if you must empty the water collector, there is no way to pour the water out without spilling on floor. The top of it has several openings, as well as water dripping from the inside edges. So if you don't mind spillage while dumping the water, then all is well and good.

Worked fine for 13 months. Now everyday I get the error code "EC" on the machine. I unplug and replug it in and it works for a while. Next morning the error code is back. I have tried other electrical outlets. Of course the warranty period expired just before failure.
